Regional Sales and Technical Trainer-
Cequent Performance Products (a TriMas company) is seeking a Regional Sales and Technical Trainer for our Western region. Cequent Performance Products (CPP) is an operating group that is a leading designer, manufacturer and marketer of a broad range of accessories for light trucks, sport utility vehicles, recreational vehicles, passenger cars and trailers of all types. Products include towing and hitch systems, trailer components and accessories, and electrical, brake, cargo-carrying and rack systems.
Position Summary The Regional Sales and Technical Trainer reports to the Director of Sales and Technical Training. He/she is responsible for sales and technical training internally for sales, customer and technical service staff and externally for customers within markets and regions served. The Regional Sales and Technical Trainer will assist in the drive of the market’s achievement of customer acquisition and revenue attainment utilizing sales and technical training programs.
Responsibilities • Provide sales and technical training internally to sales, technical and customer service staff and externally to customers. • Develop and implement multi-media sales and technical training presentation programs • Work with Director of Training to develop and establish comprehensive multi-media sales and technical training materials. • Work with sales management within markets and region served to maintain key customer relationships, develop and implement training strategies for expanding the market’s customer base. • Work with sales management within markets and region served to manage prospect pipeline from interest (establishing relationship), development (understanding need), and close utilizing sales and technical training. • Work with Director of Training to develop training programs for high-profile customers and market partners. • Assist in the identification of new products. • Assist sales management within markets and region served with the management of brand strategy within channel. • Works and travels with sales management within markets and region served to train, develop and to call on regular and prospective customers to: o Explain and/or demonstrate new products utilizing samples or catalogs o Attend and represent Cequent Performance Products Inc. at trade shows with training venues o Trains sales management personnel to ensure they are able to discuss our products features and benefits. o Conduct both sales and product installation and technical training o Trains sale management personnel to also conduct trainings • Submit required reports in a timely manner. • Performs assigned duties in the assigned territory and also outside assigned territory when required

Requirements • College degree or other advanced training or at least 3-5 years sales and technical training experience in comparable industries. • Preferred experience in the trailer( RV, utility, landscape, marine, heavy equipment ), towing products ( undercar/truck hitch receivers, gooseneck, 5th wheel) and electrical towing (t-connectors, brake controls) industries. • Ability to plan and manage at both the strategic and operational levels. • Well developed organizational, time management, verbal and written communication skills, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. • Systems experience working with desktop applications. (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Microsoft CRM Dynamics, video editing and learning management software programs such as Adobe Connect Pro, Captivate and Presenter) • Must be able to analyze problems and develop solutions. • Outstanding consultative selling abilities and excellent interpersonal skills with executive level customers and partners. • Proven sales and technical training track record in a new product/ market environment. • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create results driven, team oriented environments. • Experience in choosing, deploying and using sales and technical training applications. • Capacity to assume more significant executive responsibilities over time. • A proficient level of hands- on mechanical aptitude • Must have a good driving record. • Extensive travel (3-4 nights per week including international travel – road warrior)
